Valerie Sagun é conhecida nas redes sociais como "Big Gal Yoga" e já tem mais de 88 mil seguidores no Instagram

Valerie Sagun é de São Francisco, nos Estados Unidos, tem 27 anos e começou a praticar ioga durante a univerisade, há três anos. Logo depois, decidiu compartilhar fotos mostrando as posições da prática e virou febre nas redes sociais. Vestindo manequim 50 ela prova que qualquer um pode virar um iogui. 


"Meus fã ficam surpresos quando faço abertura porque sou uma garota grande, mas sou tão flexível quanto uma magra", disse Valerie ao site britânico Closer. "Algumas posições machucam meus punhos porque tenho que sustentar muito peso, mas eu adoro chocolates e almôndegas", brinca. 

Sempre usando roupas coloridas e com sorriso aberto, a norte-americana faz posições de ioga que desafia até os mais experientes.

Ela também incentiva a auto-estima dos seguidores: "Todos nós temos questões com o corpo, sendo gordos ou magros, mas é bom tomar um tempo para se olhar e amar como você está agora", diz Valerie em seu site. ela também está em uma campanha virtual para arrecadar fundos para montar o próprio estúdio de ioga.

Stood on one foot, and brought the other foot onto the wheel. Then I could Squat down into Malasana. Oh, hello all you new followers! 😙 A lot of people have been asking where you can start your own yoga practice. If you go to my website (www.biggalyoga.com direct link in description) under the FAQ there is a link called 'Getting Into Yoga' where I have made a blog post for anyone wanting some tips on how to start. This is the only way I have started so those are the only tips for now that I can offer. I'll update it soon and look for more videos and recommendations. Some have asked as well if I have a Youtube with videos. Yes I do have a YouTube, but no I don't have videos to practice. Since I am not yoga teacher trained I don't feel comfortable yet setting up videos for people to practice yet. Next year I will definitely start to work with videos there. As for Yoga Teacher Training, I'm looking up places to do my training. If there are any yogis who are yoga teacher trained, and have any recommendations on places to get certified, I would love to know! There was a place in Arizona, that I was thinking of, but I'd love to know more that I can't find on the internet! Comment here for details or email me at biggalyoga@gmail.com with details. Hopefully trainings that will start the beginning of next year, from 2 weeks - 3 months time frame. Trying to get trained soon so I can start teaching! Day 14 Svarga Dvidasana/Bird of Paradise for the #CrazyBigInversions July Yoga Challenge with @crazycurvy_yoga and @biggalyoga Sponsors : @fractal.9 @stardancerdesigns @lineagewear @haeskit Come into high lunge warrior pose with the left in front and the right in back. Using a strap or holding onto or using your hands drop the left shoulder and bring the left arm under the left thigh. Reach the right arm around the lower back to grab onto the strap or hold onto the hands into a Bound Warrior Pose. You can stay here or bring the right leg in close to the left leg. Root your right leg as you squeeze the bind on your left thigh. Find balance as your lift the left leg up knee first. Next flex the calf and foot straight.
